This year’s Fellow & Supervisor meeting was held in the Curry Ballroom within the Curry Student Center of Northeastern University in Boston. This is an important meeting as it’s one of the only times all fellows and supervisors are in the same space together! To kick off the meeting MPF staff shared updates on the Fellowship.
Next up was the opportunity to network! Curry Ballroom was organized into several different tables with suggested networking topics. Among them were Volunteer Recruitment, Youth Recruitment and Peer Leadership programs. This was a wonderful opportunity for the group to collaborate and share best practices and strategies in their youth development work!
For the remainder of the day fellows and supervisors received an abbreviated training from Northeastern University’s Sport in Society Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) Program. Jarrod, Caitlin, Ricardhy and Betsy led the group through powerful “agree” and “disagree” scenarios. It was amazing to see Fellows candidly discuss their personal opinions and connections to teen violence!
